About Guess the Word
Inspired by the viral word game Wordle, this game challenges you to find a secret 5-letter word in 6 guesses. After each guess, colour-coded tiles reveal how close you are. Sharpen your vocabulary and logical deduction skills with hundreds of possible words.
Controls
- On-screen keyboard / physical keyboard - Type letters to build your guess
- Enter / ↵ - Submit your 5-letter guess
- Backspace / ⌫ - Delete the last letter
- New Game button - Start a fresh puzzle immediately
How to Play
- You have 6 attempts to guess the secret 5-letter word.
- Each guess must be a valid 5-letter word - type it and press Enter.
- After each guess, tiles change colour to show your progress:
- 🟩 Green - correct letter in the correct position
- 🟨 Yellow - correct letter but in the wrong position
- ⬜ Grey - this letter is not in the word at all
- Use the colour clues to narrow down the answer with each guess.
- Win streaks are tracked - try to keep your streak going!
Frequently Asked Questions
Like Wordle, you guess a 5-letter word with color-coded feedback. Unlike the original Wordle, you can play multiple rounds back-to-back without waiting for a daily reset - a new word is available every game.
Green: correct letter in the correct position. Yellow: correct letter in the wrong position. Grey: letter not in the word. Use these clues to narrow down the answer with each guess.
High-information starting words include common letters like CRANE, RAISE, STARE, or AUDIO. These cover 5 different frequently occurring letters, maximizing the information you gain from the first guess.
6 guesses, identical to classic Wordle. If you don't find the word in 6 tries, the answer is revealed and you can start a new game.
