About Word Builder

Word Builder gives you 9 letter tiles drawn from a weighted pool (like Scrabble) and 90 seconds to build as many valid English words as possible. Click tiles to select letters, build a word in the tray, then submit it. Unlike the Anagram Game, you can reuse all tiles for each new word - the challenge is recognizing words quickly under time pressure.

Controls

  • Click a tile - Add that letter to your current word
  • Click a letter in the tray - Remove that letter from your word
  • Submit Word button - Submit your current word for scoring
  • Clear button - Remove all letters from the tray (tiles return to pool)
  • 🔀 Shuffle button - Randomly rearrange the tile order
  • New Game button - Start a new 90-second game with fresh tiles
  • Keys 1–9 - Add the corresponding tile by keyboard position
  • Enter - Submit the current word
  • Escape / Backspace - Clear the current word

How to Play

  • Click letter tiles to build a word in the tray above.
  • Words must be 3 or more letters and use only the tiles on screen.
  • Submit to score - tiles reset so you can build another word.
  • You cannot reuse the same word in the same game.
  • Each tile shows a point value - rarer letters score more.
  • Longer words earn bigger point bonuses: 3 = 3pts, 4 = 6pts, 5 = 10pts, 6+ = 15pts.

Frequently Asked Questions

Most word builder games accept words of 3 or more letters. Very short words (1–2 letters) are typically not accepted to keep the game focused on vocabulary depth.
No. You can use the available letters in any order to form valid words. The constraint is which letters are available - you can't use a letter more times than it appears in your tile set.
Longer words score more points per letter. Finding a 7-letter word from your tile set scores significantly more than seven 3-letter words and rewards players who think strategically.
A standard English dictionary word list is used. Common nouns, verbs, and adjectives are accepted. Proper nouns, abbreviations, and slang are typically not included.
